Dear Friend: C. H. Spurgeon wrote, “O death! Why do you
touch the tree beneath whose spreading branches weariness
has rest? Why do you snatch away the excellent of the Earth,
in whom is all our delight? If you must use your axe, use it
upon the trees that yield no fruit; you might then be
thanked. But why do you fell the goodly cedars of Lebanon? O
stay your axe, and spare the righteous. But no, it must not
be; death smites the goodliest of our friends, the most
generous, the most prayerful, the most holy, the most
devoted must die. And why? It is through Jesus’ prevailing
prayer: “Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given
me, be with me where I am.” It is that which bears them on
eagle’s wings to Heaven.” (This is from a
soon-to-be-released Pure Gold Classic, Spurgeon on Prayer,
which we will publish this autumn.)

“Well Done, Thou Good and
Faithful Servant”
Catherine (Kitty) Morrell
November 6, 1942 – August 18, 2009 |
It is with deep sadness that I have to announce the death of
Catherine (Kitty) Morrell, co-founder and President of
Bridge-Logos Foundation. She died Tuesday in Evesham,
England, after an illness that lasted a few months.
As Spurgeon said, she was one of “the excellent of the
Earth,” a goodly cedar of Lebanon, and “the goodliest of our
friends, the most generous, the most prayerful, the most
holy, the most devoted.” Undeniably, Kitty was a faithful
handmaiden of the Lord.
As she passed into eternity, I’m certain she heard the
words of Jesus saying to her, “Well done, thou good and
faithful servant.” Indeed, she was a very generous,
prayerful, holy woman of God, a kind lady who was very close
to the Lord and was eager to go to see Him in Heaven, where
she is now.
Guy and Kitty Morrell founded Bridge-Logos Publishers in
New Jersey in 1991. Later, they moved the company to
Florida. Guy passed away in May, 2007, and Kitty inherited
the company. It was her heart’s desire to see Bridge-Logos
become a non-profit ministry, and so she turned the company
over to the Lord by establishing Bridge-Logos Foundation
earlier this year. This act of generosity has been blessed
by the Lord, and it ensures that Bridge-Logos will continue
in its present form for years to come.
Thank you, Kitty, for your faithfulness in serving the
King of kings and Lord of lords, who has always been the
head and heart of Bridge-Logos. We shall miss you.
A Successful Convention
It was so good to see many of you at the ICRS Convention
in Denver in July. It was a very successful show for us.
Although we had fewer orders than we did at
last year’s show, we had a higher sales volume. We also made many new contacts and enjoyed Christian
fellowship with friends we’ve known through the years. Thank
you for helping to make the convention a great success for
us and so many others. We hope to see you again next year in
St. Louis.
“We’re Talking Books”
Hosting a weekly radio show over

which include the following:
Each Thursday we give away copies of the
guest-of-the-day’s books to the first five callers to the
show. The number to call is 1-646-378-0089. Please tune in
and give us a call.
Autumn Releases
Here is a list of some our upcoming late-summer and fall
releases; next month I will go into more detail about each
of them:
We continue to have a very busy production schedule, and
we’re looking forward to the success of each of these new
titles.
Thanks Be to God
Paul wrote, “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor
life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things
present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any
other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love
of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39,
KJV).
May you find solace in His everlasting love today!
Sincerely in Christ,
