Merry Christmas and Happy New Year From Bridge-Logos Foundation!

Dear Friend:

One of the best-known verses in the New Testament is John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (KJV). I memorized this verse soon after I was saved when I was thirteen. Though that was a long time ago, the truth of these vital words continues to minister to me in so many ways.

John 3:16 reminds me of God’s great love for each of us—a love so great, in fact, that He gave His only begotten Son as a sacrifice for our sins. “God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself” (2 Corinthians 5:19). How thankful I am for the reconciliation that the blood of Jesus Christ made possible for us.

John 3:16 reminds me that love’s first and only impulse is to give. God loved the world so much that He gave. Through Christ we now have abundant and eternal life—a gift of God’s grace to each of us. Through His love and the life He has imparted to us we find great meaning and purpose for our own lives, and we find abiding happiness. As a result, we want to give to Him and others.

John 3:16 reminds me that the enemy known as death is completely defeated. We shall rule and reign with our Lord Jesus Christ through all eternity. We should indeed be the happiest people on the face of the Earth. Why? Some of the reasons are that we are saved, reconciled unto God, redeemed, delivered, blessed with every spiritual blessing, and able to share Christ with others. “Happy is that people whose God is the Lord” (Psalms 144:15).

John 3:16 reminds me of the importance of faith: “. . . that whosoever believeth in him should not perish.” Jesus said, “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water” (John 7:38, italics mine). Let those rivers flow.

Finally, John 3:16 reminds me that Christmas is a time of celebration, rejoicing, giving, and victory. May you experience the hope of Christmas—abundant and eternal life, and may you know more fully the love of God, which “. . . is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us” (Romans 5:5).

Synergy Publishing Services

Sometime next year we will be reviving our Synergy Publishing Services, which will enable authors to get their works published at a reasonable expense. I will write more about this in the January newsletter. This is a particularly good service for those who have a public-speaking ministry and are able to sell their books to their audiences. Perhaps you know someone you would like to refer to us.

We will be listing all Synergy books in our future catalogs. The word “synergy” means “joint work; combined or cooperative action or force.” By combining our professional editorial, design, production, and printing services with the authors’ writing, Synergy will be able to produce books that will have a profound impact upon the world. I’ll keep you posted on this.

Miami Book Fair

Steve Becker, Shawn Myers, and I had a wonderful time at the Miami Book Fair in November. It was good to spend time with two of our authors, Dr. John David Pitcher, Jr.—author of After the Rapture—Passing the Torch and Kevin Cross, CPA, author of Building Your Financial Fortress in 52 Days. It was a delight to meet the people who came to our booth and to see their great interest in our titles. I think we may go back again next year! By the way, be looking for Kevin’s new book—his amazing life story—to be released sometime next year.

My Anchor Holds—the Difference Jesus Makes

Gloria Stargel, the author of My Anchor Holds—the Difference Jesus Makes, had a wonderful gala at Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia, on November 7, 2009. Many of the people she writes about in the book, including Colonel Ben Purcell and Gene Beckstein, attended. In all, twenty-seven of the book’s fifty-seven subjects were present at the gathering along with many others, and all had a great time. Gloria’s book is a very uplifting and inspirational collection of personal faith-building stories, and she is a dear friend of this ministry.

Our New Catalog

We will be releasing the winter catalog for Bridge-Logos Foundation later this month. It will show our new titles, announce upcoming releases, and provide information about our strong backlist. Be looking for it soon!

The Pagan-Christian Connection by Michael Rood

A new ISBN number has been assigned to The Pagan-Christian Connection by Michael Rood, and this title will no longer include a DVD. The new ISBN is 978-088270-520-0. Be looking for a new title by Michael, which we will be releasing sometime next year. It is a project that he has spent more than thirty years producing, and it is entitled The Chronological Gospels.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

My sincere wish is that this Christmas season will be a bright and blessed time for you and yours. May 2010 be your best year ever!

Sincerely in Christ,
