Bridge-Logos Foundation Newsletter

Dear Friend,

Dr. A.W. Tozer writes, “It is important that we get still to wait on God. And it is best that we get alone, preferably with our Bible outspread before us. Then, if we will, we may draw near to God and begin to hear Him speak to us in our hearts. I think that for the average person the progression will be something like this: First a sound as of a Presence walking in the garden. Then a Voice, more intelligible, but still far from clear. Then the happy moment when the Spirit begins to illuminate the Scriptures; and that which had only been a sound, or at best a voice, now becomes an intelligible word; warm and intimate and clear as the word of a dear friend. Then will come life and light, and best of all, ability to see and rest in and embrace Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of all” (Taken from Tozer: Mystery of the Holy Spirit—a Pure Gold Classic).

Notice the progression outlined here:

  • Draw near to God.
  • Hear the sound of His presence walking in the garden.
  • Listen for His voice.
  • Receive His Word—the word of a dear friend.
  • Appropriate life and light from Jesus Christ.
  • Rest in Jesus Christ, as you embrace Him as the Lord and Savior of all.
All too often I do not take time to listen for the Lord’s voice, as the hymn-writer said, “I come to the garden alone while the dew is still on the roses; and the voice I hear falling on my ear, the Son of God discloses; and He walks with me, and He talks with me, and He tells me I am His own. And the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever known.”

That’s the kind of intimacy we need, especially during these troubled times. It is why we were created in the first place: to know God and to enjoy Him forever. “What a Friend we have in Jesus—all our sins and griefs to bear; what a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer.”

As we begin this month of March, let’s draw near to God. He promises to draw near to us if we do, and then, when we resist the devil, he will flee from us.

Meet Shawn Myers

Shawn MyersOur in-house publicist, Shawn Myers, has just returned from Nashville, where she attended the Women in Media and National Religious Broadcasters conventions.

Shawn was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She is married to Brian Myers, and they have four teen-aged children: Matthew, Johnny, Dallas, and Erin. She served Bridge-Logos at CBA conventions for several years, and in 2008 she became our full-time publicist. She and her husband have served local churches as youth leaders and recently accepted positions as youth pastors at nearby Gulf Hammock Church of God.

Outgoing and friendly by nature, Shawn loves to interact with people on a face-to-face basis. When she was in Nashville, she was greatly encouraged by several influential Christian women: Kay Arthur, Suellen Roberts, Thelma Wells, Karol Ladd, Terry Meeuswen, and Vonette Bright. Shawn said she left there feeling rejuvenated and ready to “take on the world.”

God bless you, Shawn, as you and your husband embark on an important ministry to young people. We’re grateful for all you do for Bridge-Logos Foundation.

Bridge-Logos Authors Featured in Charisma Magazine

Three of our authors are featured prominently in Charisma and Christian Life this month. In fact, one of them, Kirk Cameron, is on the front cover of the March issue.

Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort have done several projects together, including these Bridge-Logos titles:

There are several photos of Kirk and Ray in this issue. In one of the photos Ray is holding a copy of his very popular The Evidence Bible. We enjoy working with these two sincere and faithful men of God. May the Lord continue to bless your mighty ministry of evangelism, Ray and Kirk.

Another one of our authors, Peter Tsukahira, has an article in this month’s Charisma. The article is entitled “Grace Is Not Cheap.” Peter is the author of God’s Tsunami, a recently published Bridge-Logos book, and the pastor of Kehilat HaCarmel on Mount Carmel in Israel. I encourage you to read both the article and Peter’s outstanding book.

The Great End-Time Tsunami

In God’s Tsunami, Peter Tsukahira says:

“The great end-time tsunami of God’s purposes is more than worldwide revival. It is the power of God’s presence sweeping through all the nations in order to fulfill His purposes, which were set in place before the world was made. The fulfillment of God’s prophetic plans for Israel and the nations brings glory to Him among all the peoples of the world. When the tidal wave of God’s purposes completes its circling of the globe and reaches its conclusion in Israel, the whole Earth will see the glory of God.”

Natural tsunamis seem to be occurring very frequently in recent years. As we all know, just last week a tsunami triggered by the Chilean earthquake devastated several villages along Chile’s coastline. I think these natural events provide us with clear evidence that we are in the end times. We need to stay alert, be watchful, and tell others about the Lord Jesus Christ, for He will soon return.

Jesus said, “Surely I come quickly.” Let our response be, “Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20-21).
