David du Plessis, "Mr. Pentecost," was a man raised up by God for a specific mission. That mission was to boldly give testimony of the power of the baptism in the Holy Spirit to the leaders of the World Council of Churches at the height of the Pentecostal Movement.

"Such work required God's man with God's gifts and God's burden for God's work for God's glory." (Donald Gee)

"We know of no other Pentecostal minister who has shown such keen and capable leadership in bringing the message and experience of the Holy Spirit into circles and at levels where many thought it impossible." (Harald Bredesen)

The Spirit Bade Me Go contains the transcribed talks and messages given by David du Plessis as he ministered in conferences and services around the world. As you turn the pages of this spiritual classic, you will feel the breath of God's Spirit bringing renewal to your heart. The Church will never be the same because of one man's obedience.

David du PlessisDavid du Plessis (1905 - January 31, 1987) was a Pentecostal minister from South Africa, who is considered to be one of the founders of the Charismatic movement. Most of his life he was affiliated with the Assemblies of God, but two of his greatest achievements were to develop and maintain communication with the Roman Catholic Church, and serve as the Pentecostal representative at the Second Vatican Council. He also took the Pentecostal message to the World Council of Churches, which caused him considerable problems with his Pentecostal brethren, and for a time the Assemblies of God discontinued his affiliation with them. David du Plessis was an active believer in ecumenism, and believed in establishing ties with all who had faith in Jesus Christ, regardless of their denomination. He is the author of The Spirit Bade Me Go and A Man Called Mr. Pentecost.
